She is survived by her partner Douglas MacLean, her daughter Sheena Wade and Murray Wade (Sheena’s father) of Cochrane, AB, brother Howard Mauch (Kay Hesketh) of Sugarland, TX, sister Judy (Murray) Graham of Chestermere, AB, her one son-in-law Jon MacLean, and three daughters-in-law, Amber (Denis) of Irvine, AB, Rachel (Matt) of Calgary, AB, and Rebekah (Trevor) of Campbell River, BC; nieces and nephews, Adam and Joanna of Ontario, Jesse (Amanda) of Calgary, AB, and Lliam and Averyll of Texas; great-nieces and nephews, Liam, Avery, Adeline, Claire, and Elise; as well as numerous cousins and friends.

Monica lived her early years in Montreal, QC, and Toronto, ON. Shortly after her high school graduation, she moved to Calgary, to be within sight of her beloved mountains, and finally settled in Cochrane, AB. Monica graduated from Don Mills Collegiate Institute, Toronto, in 1976. Upon moving to Calgary, she began what became a successful career as a Land Administrator in the Oil and Gas Industry.

Monica loved music. She loved to sing, and she sang beautifully. She played her guitar and ukulele, especially with friends and family in social gatherings and at music camps. She also liked camping, being in the mountains, biking, hiking with friends, and golfing, as often as she could.

Monica loved to travel and had many amazing adventures over the years. Italy, Croatia, Germany, Holland, the British Isles, and the United States, especially Hawaii.

On behalf of Monica and her family, we extend our deepest gratitude to the staff at Foothills Medical Centre and the Dulcina Hospice for their amazing care and compassion.
