Obituary of Gloria Jean Scaddan

May 18, 1941 – Milden, Saskatchewan

April 10, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta

 

It is with sadness that the family of Gloria Jean Scaddan announces her passing, on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, in Calgary, AB.

 

Gloria was born in Milden, SK, on May 18, 1941, to George and Mabel Rankin. On October 4, 1958, she married Vernon Scaddan, the love of her life. They were married for 65 and a half years.

 

She is survived by her children, Terry (Murray), Tracy (Chris), and Todd (Gillean); grandchildren, Courtney (Jeff), Kendall (Katie), Shayla (Brad), David (Teagen), Alesha, Ashton, and Wyatt; and great-grandchildren, Eleanor, Carter, Brooklynn, Christopher, Olivia, and Ashlynn. Gloria is also survived by her three brothers, Howard, Ken (Judy), and Keith; brother-in-law Lloyd (Diane), sisters-in-law, Mabel and Anne.

 

She was predeceased by her parents, Mabel and George Rankin; in-laws, John and Gertrude Scaddan; and great-granddaughter Mikaela Lynn Marie Dupont.

Gloria lived life to the fullest. Her family always came first. She was very active in Beta Sigma Phi, the Weyburn golf course, the Weyburn Arts Council, the Weyburn Crocus Quilt Guild, and curling. She enjoyed having family and friends over to the house, always making sure they were fed and looked after. She loved playing cards and enjoyed many laughs with family and friends.

 

She was a cancer survivor, admired for her grit and will to live a full life.

 

A Celebration of Gloria's Life will be held at McKenna Hall (317 3rd St NE, Weyburn, SK) on Saturday, April 27, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
